CFP Response to COVID-19

These have been stressful times for all involved during this current pandemic. Please be assured that Chickahominy Family Physicians is staying up-to-date on the latest guidelines and protocols set out by the Centers for Disease Control and the Virginia Department of Health.

We recommend that anyone eligible get their covid vaccine, plus the booster and a flu shot.

Due to high demand and supply chain shortages, our offices have had difficulty keeping rapid COVID tests, Flu tests, and Strep tests. Because of this, our Providers may not be able to offer a complete evaluation to those with respiratory symptoms. (NOT PROVIDED at the New Market location).

At CFP, we are committed to caring for our patients as best we can, considering the present conditions. However, at this time we do not recommend people make appointments on the day after they develop cold symptoms as we do not have any supplies to offer them reasonable medical guidance. If you have more concerning symptoms we will try to see you and offer guidance as we are able.

We ask that all our patients please follow all recommended guidelines by our health department to minimize the spreading of COVID-19.

Referral Policy

Same day referral requests are not processed for non-urgent conditions. Referrals will not be backdated unless it is an emergency situation. All voice-mail messages received between the hours of 9:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. will be processed within three (3) business days. If you have a change of insurance, you must bring a copy of the insurance card (front and back) before the referral will be processed. We will fax your referral or written order unless you request to pick it up.

Do you have an urgent medical situation that needs to be dealt with quickly? The time waiting to see the doctor at our medical practice is significantly less than at the hospital emergency room.

Our wide range of on-site services makes it more likely that everything necessary can be accomplished in a single visit.

Sore throat, abdominal pain, flu symptoms?

Our on-site lab provides immediate test results.

Sports injury or worried that you’ve broken a bone?

On-site x-ray capability at the Quinton and Providence Forge locations allows our physicians to make that determination.

Cuts / lacerations that a band aid won’t fix?

Our practitioners can stitch you up and get you back on your way quicker than an ER visit.

Patient Forms

Forms can be completed online through the patient portal or you can print them from our website and bring them with you to your appointment.
